Their matching GE/Korea markings and closely related construction make them a particularly nice grouping. The bulbs have the familiarC7-size candelabra screw bases, but the decorative glass globes are substantially larger than ordinary C7 Christmas bulbs. Vintage GE “Lighted Ice” Christmas Bulbs – Set of 3 – Red, Blue & Green – Tested Working A wonderful set of  three vintage General Electric GE Lighted Ice Christmas bulbs , featuring the distinctive chunky crystalline coating that gives these bulbs their remarkable “crushed ice” appearance . Included are three different colors: Green Blue Red / Rose-Pink All three are the large round globe form and are marked on their metal bases  GE 120V KOREA . The Lighted Ice effect These are much more interesting than an ordinary colored Christmas bulb. Each glass globe is densely covered with hundreds of small translucent crystalline pieces. When unlit, the coating creates a highly textured, almost jeweled appearance. When illuminated, the light shines  through and between the individual pieces , producing the sparkling dimensional effect for which GE's  Lighted Ice  bulbs are known. The photographs of the bulbs illuminated really show why these vintage specialty bulbs are so appealing. The green becomes an intense luminous chartreuse/emerald, the blue takes on an icy jewel-like glow, and the red/rose bulb produces a rich warm red light. Vintage GE manufacture All three bulbs have matching-style screw bases marked: GE 120V KOREA These are therefore later imported GE examples and should not be confused with the earlier  GE USA  specialty bulbs. I would describe these conservatively as  vintage late-20th-century GE Christmas bulbs  rather than assign an exact manufacturing year without original packaging. Their matching GE/Korea markings and closely related construction make them a particularly nice grouping. Size & construction The bulbs have the familiar  C7-size candelabra screw bases , but the decorative glass globes are substantially larger than ordinary C7 Christmas bulbs. The round bulbs measure approximately  2 inches across , giving them a bold presence when installed on a traditional vintage Christmas-light string. Each bulb consists of colored glass beneath a thick application of irregular translucent crystalline pieces. Because the individual pieces vary naturally in size and shape, no two surfaces are exactly alike. Condition All three bulbs have been individually tested and all three illuminate properly , as documented in the photographs. Very attractive vintage condition overall. The crystalline coating remains impressively full across all three bulbs. As expected with vintage applied coatings of this type, there may be scattered loss of individual pieces, minor surface irregularities and normal age-related wear. The metal screw bases show normal vintage wear. No cracks or breaks observed in the glass bulbs. Please study the detailed photographs carefully, as they show the actual three bulbs included and form an important part of the condition description. Because these are vintage incandescent bulbs, they are being sold as  tested and working at the time of listing; remaining bulb life cannot be guaranteed. Bulbs only. Light string is not included. Collector note Finding one vintage specialty bulb is fairly easy; what makes this group more appealing is having  three matching GE Lighted Ice globes in three contrasting colors , all with the GE/Korea markings and  all three still working .
