Rare, antique original loop flint glass compote with pedestal, circa 1830's-1840's. With graceful scalloped edges, dramatic arches and generous loop pattern. This piece is heavy and weighs 5 lbs. If you flick the glass, it has a nice ring to it. The high pitch ring means there is a significant amount of flint in the glass. which symbolizes the age of the piece. Length Across: 9", Height: 9.5", Depth Inside Compote 5". Very good condition. Light usage and very well kept. This beautiful piece came from my late Grandmother's estate in Saddle River, NJ.
