A rare antique Tibetan prayer bell, a Ghanta or dril-bu, likely 18th or late 17th century. The bell, uncommonly, is made from pactong, the mock-silver alloy. The vajra-form handle is bronze. Both have splendid surfaces of a very dark patina. The piece is 6 15/16" tall, with the bell measuring 2 7/8" diameter at the bottom rim, and 2 7/8" tall. It weighs a surprising 1 pound 4 ounces.
