This is a really lovely handmade Russian wood jewelry/trinket box. Design is handpainted with some carving and woodburning (pyrography) as well. Hinged box has very sturdy rabbet joints in all four corners and a small dowel pin closure. There is a light/shallow scratch on one side (see pictures). This would be a great box for jewelry, rosary/prayer beads, coins, etc. A must have for anyone with an appreciation for Russian architecture and folk art.
