This fun Santa doll has a stuffed cloth body. He can actually sit because his legs bend at the joints. His head and beard are one piece of molded plastic that was hand painted. His mittens and feet/boots are white felt. Welcome to Milkweed Antiques.   This fun Santa doll has a stuffed cloth body. He can actually sit because his legs bend at the joints. His head and beard are one piece of molded plastic that was hand painted. His mittens and feet/boots are white felt. He has chenille trim on his jacket and some sort of plush fabric as a collar. His belt is black plastic and was stapled to his body on the back. He has lost his label so I do not know where or by whom he was made. He was either made in Japan or the U.S.A.. Santa is approximately 14" tall x 10-1/2" wide x approximately 3-1/4" deep. He is from the 1950s. This Santa doll was well loved through the years. There are marks on the white hands and feet. There is a smudge on the tip of Santa's nose. there is glue residue on the back and front where the chenille was attached. There is also glue residue on the tip of his hat. Please see the pictures.
