This strand, with its careful hand-knotting between each pearl and generous pearl size, was clearly made with quality in mind. A beautiful strand of deep black cultured freshwater pearls, each individually knotted on black silk thread — a classic and timeless piece awaiting a new clasp and a new life. The peacock overtones shimmer with flashes of aubergine, midnight blue, and bottle green, giving these pearls a depth and mystery that rivals far more expensive Tahitian varieties.  This strand, with its careful hand-knotting between each pearl and generous pearl size, was clearly made with quality in mind. Materials & Technique The pearls are cultured freshwater, colour-treated to achieve their deep black-peacock tone, with a smooth near-round form and a high mirror-like lustre. Each pearl is individually hand-knotted on black silk thread — the traditional and most protective stringing method, which prevents pearls from rubbing together and ensures that if the thread breaks, no pearls are lost. The clasp is missing — one end has an open wire loop; the necklace requires a new clasp to be worn. This is clearly visible in the photographs and is reflected in the price.
