It has some wear to the gold trim on the handle and some paint loss to the flower on the inside of the cup. Otherwise great. The cup and saucer together measure approximately 5 7/8” in diameter 2.5” tall. The bottom of each piece is signed WH Grindley. Very pretty muted floral print. 💐💐 History of WH Grindley Fine China W.H. Grindley & Co. was a pottery company that produced fine china in Tunstall, Staffordshire, England, from 1880 to 1991. Originally founded by William Harry Grindley in 1880, the company became a leading producer of tableware and ceramic products, particularly for export markets. The company’s products were known for their quality and innovative designs, including the famous ‘Lorraine’ pattern. During World War II, the company continued to produce its products, but also manufactured aircraft components for the war effort. In the post-war years, the company continued to thrive and increased its export market. In 1960, the company merged with the Wood & Sons pottery company, but retained the Grindley name. However, by the 1980s, increased competition from overseas manufacturers eventually led to the company’s decline, and it finally closed in 1991. Today, W.H.
