It features a complex Geometric Pieced Blocks, including Plaids, Checks and patterns in Assorted Colors. The Quilt is Tied Basted together with Red thread to secure the layers together. The back of quilt is a beautiful deep red. The quilt looks like it was hand pierced and then hand quilted. This item was constructed entirely by hand, from start to finish, without the use of a sewing machine. It is Utilitarian Style, historically made for everyday use. Made from cotton. The border is tattered and some section has visible tears from age and lovingly use, This can be easily repaired. What I truly love about this quilt, it features an embroidered name of Artist, Mama Hawkes, and date when made, July 27, 1965. Approximately 84”x 77”.
