A beautiful set of vintage Gold Imari tea cup and saucer sets, hand painted in the traditional Imari palette of deep cobalt blue, iron red, and generous gold detailing over a crisp white porcelain ground. Eight cup-and-saucer sets are available individually; combined shipping applies when two or more are purchased together. Gold Imari takes its design language from the centuries-old Japanese export porcelain first produced in the Arita region and shipped from the port of Imari to European collectors. This later twentieth-century interpretation, commonly associated with the Otagiri Mercantile Company, preserves the paneled medallions, floral bouquets, and scrolling gold borders that have made Imari a long-standing favorite for formal tea and coffee service. Each cup features a graceful handle, and each saucer carries a matching painted rim with radial floral panels centered on chrysanthemums and peonies. The sets are lovely for afternoon tea, after-dinner coffee, and holiday entertaining, and they display beautifully on a glass shelf or china hutch. Excellent condition across the set: no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs, and the colors remain bright with the gold still rich and even.
