Offered for sale is a Rare and Beautiful Antique L. Bernardaud & Co. Limoges Porcelain Chocolate Service Set with 4 Cups and Saucers. This elegant set dates to the late Victorian / Early Edwardian era (circa 1895–1900) and was produced in France as confirmed by the original “B & Co., FRANCE, L. Bernardaud & Co., Limoges” backstamp. Bernardaud is renowned for the finest of French porcelain, known for their refinement and quality, since 1863. The porcelain set features delicate hand–painted pink roses and blue forget-me-nots with beautiful rich gold Greek key gilt borders on a white porcelain background. The graceful curved handles are gilded in gold. The side-mounted gold handle is a characteristic design of antique chocolate pots, used to facilitate stirring. MEASUREMENTS: Chocolate Pot Measures approx. 7 1/4” tall to top of lid x 6 3/4” wide with handle (and 5 1/2” wide with spout). It holds 19 ounces. Cups are 2 1/4” high x 2 3/16” diameter and 3 1/4” wide with handle. They have a 4 oz. capacity. Saucers are 4 3/4” diameter with 3/4” rise. In very good to excellent antique condition – I see one very small chip on one saucer rim (please see final photo) and a little wear to the inner gold band on another saucer - but otherwise no chips, cracks, crazing, repairs or stains.
