Please excuse any glare in the photos. This ash splint basket has an oblong shape and a fixed handle. It measures approximately 6 inches tall to the top of the handle, or about 3 1/2 inches tall to the top of the rim. It is about 6 5/8 inches long and 5 3/8 inches wide. Unpacked, it weighs 1.4 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of country primitive antiques. Identification This unsigned basket is believed to be from the Northeastern Woodlands of Canada or the United States. The exact age of the piece is unknown, but it is believed to be antique. This item is from a Northern California collection of country primitives, folk art, and antiques. Condition The basket looks good overall, with light wear. There are some short splits in the splint material (parallel to the length) and a few minor stitch breaks. There are a few minor dark stains/spots. The interior is a bit dusty.
