A Rare Antique Miniature Portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte in Piano Key Style Frame . This lovely small portrait is from the late 19th century and exhibits beautiful period construction details throughout. The portrait captures Napoleon in his iconic military attire and is signed in the middle right side. The frame is made of engraved antique piano key material with black ebony square corners. There is a metal ring at the top for hanging. The reverse side retains an extraordinary antique French printed paper backing, likely repurposed from an early French book or document, adding remarkable authenticity and old-world character to the piece. In very good antique condition consistent with age, including authentic antique wear and patina. I do see one antique piano key material and one black square are missing. And wear to one corner.
