Up for sale is a beautiful vintage 1970’ silver Southwestern / Native American style belt buckle featuring an intricate Peyote Bird / Waterbird design. The buckle showcases excellent artisan craftsmanship utilizing the classic 1970s chip inlay technique with vibrant crushed turquoise and coral stones. The Motif is Peyote Bird / Waterbird with a stylized fan and stamp work accents. The back features a distinct geometric Sunface/native pictograph hallmark stamped with MIJ The size is the everyday wear size (see photo with quarter for scale comparison). 3.5" L x 2.5" W The belt buckle is in very good vintage condition with a solid, robust loop and pin mechanism. It features an authentic, dark aged patina on the reverse and minor surface character wear on the front. Most of the Stones are intact and secure there are two areas where the stones have come out.
