STUNNING amethyst colored bulb-forcing vase with white interior.  This amazing cased glass / plaqué  vase appears to be hand-blown, though there is no pontil mark on the base.  It has been blown with two colors of glass (purple on the outside and white on the inside).  It is so pretty and I've included photos indoors and outdoors so you'll have a good idea of its color. Online search engines seem to think this is a mid-century Scandinavian art glass vase done with a Mid-Century Modern streamlined style.  It is in the shape of a bulb-forcing vase for amaryllis bulbs or other bulb flowers.  There is no maker's mark . Similar designs were made by Danish Holmegaard and Finnish artist Aimo Okkolin.   The vase is pretty tall at almost 11 inches .  The bulb at the top is about 4 inches wide and it stands on a 3.25 inch circular base.  As mentioned above there is no obvious pontil mark, but it as been smoothed on the THICK clear glass base.  It had three felt pads on the base (one of which is missing) and a handwritten label with its original price (?).  It is heavy at just over two pounds .
