Vintage South Indian bronze figure of Shiva as Nataraja, cast by the traditional lost-wax method and standing about 12 inches tall. Shiva dances within the flaming aureole while stepping on the dwarf of ignorance, with hands holding the damaru drum and flame. The piece shows a deep brown-green patina with light natural age wear and a smooth mid-century surface typical of South Indian devotional bronzes from the 1950–1980 period. Solid and well-balanced with good detail and traditional form. A strong decorative and spiritual bronze that displays beautifully. Condition: Used.
