Vintage Holland Mold 22-piece large ceramic Nativity set featuring hand-painted figures, an oversized rustic creche and two miniature bales of real straw. This substantial Christmas manger scene has a beautifully coordinated antiqued finish designed to resemble richly colored carved wood. The collection depicts the Holy Family surrounded by the Three Wise Men, shepherds, camels, sheep and other stable animals. The larger pieces are especially impressive, including two elaborately outfitted camels and colorful Magi dressed in jewel-toned robes. Holland Mold produced ceramic molds that were commonly completed and individually hand painted by ceramic studios and home artisans. Because of this, variations in colors and decorative finishes are expected, and each completed set has its own character. This set most likely dates to approximately the 1970s. Please note that Baby Jesus has one broken/missing hand, as clearly shown in the close-up photograph. The damage has been considered in the price. The creche, natural moss covering and straw bales may exhibit minor age-related wear, loose fibers or irregularities consistent with their materials and vintage use. There may also be minor surface wear or variations in the hand-painted finish. No other significant damage was observed from the supplied photographs.
