The portrait has soft hand-colored accents, including a blue-green background and subtle coloring to the children. Convex bubble glass is very clean and intact with only a very small scuff toward the bottom. The Items Shown Are The Items You Will Receive Antique oval hand-colored portrait photograph featuring two young children posed together. The portrait has soft hand-colored accents, including a blue-green background and subtle coloring to the children. It is displayed beneath convex or “bubble” glass in a substantial oval wooden frame. The approximately 2" wide frame has a distinctive dark brown tiger-stripe wood-grain finish with black trim. The tiger-striped appearance is particularly attractive and gives the frame considerable period character. “Tiger stripe” describes the decorative appearance of the finish; the actual wood species is unknown. The convex glass is exceptionally clean for its age and gives the portrait the distinctive dimensional presentation associated with early framed family photographs. Condition: Antique condition with age-related wear. The wooden frame has a thick decorative tiger-stripe finish with several areas of cracking, chipping and missing finish, exposing the lighter material beneath. Additional scattered scratches and surface wear are present. Convex bubble glass is very clean and intact with only a very small scuff toward the bottom. Portrait shows age-related fading and toning. The reverse has an older board covering secured with black tape. Please examine all photographs closely for condition and details. Size: Approximately 16" high × 15" wide overall.
