This is The Musical Palace Egg, an ornate Russian Imperial-inspired enameled egg decorated in cream and gold tone with red accents and topped by the Russian double-headed eagle. The egg opens to reveal an extraordinary miniature Russian palace scene with colorful onion domes hidden inside. The palace is designed to revolve while the musical mechanism plays the melody of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. Included with this example are the original Joan Rivers burgundy presentation box, Certificate of Authenticity, Imperial Treasures II booklet/paperwork and ornate coordinating display stand. The underside bears the Joan Rivers JR monogram. Approx. egg height is 3¾–4 inches based on the accompanying measurement photo. Condition: Pre-owned collectible condition. Egg displays beautifully with bright gold-tone finish and colorful enamel detailing. Please examine close-up photographs for any age-related wear.
