View Brutalist Sculptural Folded Ribbon Ring Modernist Brass Bronze Adjustable 10.5 with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. Striking vintage Brutalist Modernist cuff ring with a bold sculptural construction and dramatic architectural presence. The design is formed from overlapping bands and folded ribbon-like sections of warm brass/bronze-tone metal, individually curved, wrapped and layered around the ring to create an almost wearable-sculpture effect. Unlike a simple cast band, this piece has substantial dimensionality. The folded elements rise, overlap and disappear beneath one another, creating changing shapes and shadows from every angle. Some sections are broad and softly curved while others terminate in sharper folds and rolled edges, giving the ring the intentionally irregular, hand-worked character associated with Brutalist and studio jewelry of the mid-to-late 20th century. The naturally aged surface is especially attractive, with deep brown and golden-bronze patina accented by brighter highlights along the raised edges. The patina has been left intact and gives excellent definition to the layered construction. Open cuff-style band allows some adjustability. Currently measures approximately US ring size 10 1/2 on the mandrel. Measurements: • Maximum width across the sculptural front: approximately 16.4 mm / 0.65 inch • Narrower band section: approximately 11.6 mm / 0.46 inch • Current ring size: approximately US 10.5 • Open-back / adjustable cuff construction No maker’s signature or hallmark has been located. Pre-owned vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear, scratches, rubbing, oxidation and variations in patina. These are particularly visible under magnification and strong direct light and contribute to the character of the aged metal. A particularly expressive example of Brutalist / Modernist studio jewelry, combining folded-metal construction, asymmetry, texture and substantial scale.
