I treasured it because it is lovely, dainty and shaped so unusual for such a small piece, and also because it was bought in the famous "House of MURANO.". Vintage Fratelli Toso Murano Pink Zanfirico Ribbons. Italian Art Glass Bowl. A small, lightweight, and beautiful piece of hand blown art in excellent condition. Purchased in Venice in 1973 by a lady named Julia. This was one of her top 3 prized possessions, so beloved that she entrusted them to a friend Claudia when her health started failing. In her letter to Claudia she wrote, "The third item is a lovely dish I purchased in Venice from the laboratories of one of the most famous "Glass Works" in the vorld, "MURANO." ... I treasured it because it is lovely, dainty and shaped so unusual for such a small piece, and also because it was bought in the famous "House of MURANO." I know they will be safe vith you for many years and hope you will cherish them as much as I do ... I had "nightmares" seeing these treasured items going into a "Rummage Sale" at my decease. What will happen to them in the long run, no one knovs but at least they will be safe as long as you live. I'm now "at peace."" Claudia kept this piece until her death, and according to her will her estate is being sold with proceeds going to charities of her choosing.
