Believed to be mid century pieces brought back from East Africa. Pair of vintage hand carved African wooden figures, most likely Kenya or Tanzania, each standing approximately 12 inches tall. Believed to be mid century pieces brought back from East Africa. The first is a Maasai warrior with carved red painted headdress, hand painted leopard spot garment, and original glass seed bead necklaces, anklets, and a beaded earring. The second is an ebonized black figure of a villager carrying a drum, wearing crossed white seed bead necklaces and a carved conical headpiece. PLEASE READ, each figure has slight damage. The warrior figure has a chip to one ear with bare wood showing. The black figure clearly had something attached to the top of its head that is now missing, with adhesive residue remaining, and there is a hairline age crack in its base. Both still display beautifully from the front. All damage is shown in the photos, please review every photo carefully as they are part of the description. Sold as is, as shown.
