It could have been an even earlier date when presented. DeLill hand beaded silk lined evening bag with gold tone snake chain handle, measures (closely approximate) 7" across the top/opening, 8" at the middle width, 9" at the bottom width, fairly good size interior, can carry plenty of evening items, without full expansion measure 2 1/2" for depth.  The condition of this designer bag is vintage good.  There is some wear to the interior which is line in aged white sile with one small pocket for mirror or compact.  Would hold a small wallet/coin purse, phone, compact, lipstick, tissue, good size!  The beadwork along with some gold thread work covers the entire bag, gold tone closure with beadwork topping the closure and also a handpainted ceramic oval featuring the 'victorian' style 'courting couple', tried to get a good photo, most unusual.  The bead work design is scroll ad leaves in colors of a white bead background with design in gold, green, peach and gold threadwork,  pearl accents.  This was a gift to my mother, perhaps a special birthday occasion from one of her dear aunts who was always elegantly dressed.  I believe this came from Bullock's Wilshire in the 1950's, a shopping venue that my mother and my aunt patronized.  It could have been an even earlier date when presented.  It does have some wear, at the edge of the top handle beads perhaps wired and maybe dislodge slightly, wear at the inside of the closure and some wear marks on the silk interior.  The exterior beading is in perfect condition.  I believe this handbag is museum quality for it's look and design. I understood the designers were in the U.S., they hand work may have been done outside of the U.S.  I have other treasures of my mother's but need to pare down, I did not display this handbag, it has been stored in tissue for many years.  It is a conversation piece in it's detail and handwork.
