Wow! What a beautiful set of 16 pieces of vintage Japanese lacquerware! This salad set is in excellent preowned condition. It represents a great mid-century aesthetic for sure. I purchased this set from my elderly neighbor whose military family was stationed in post-war Japan and brought many lovely items back to the US—these belonged to his parents. The salad bowl and platter both feature small bits of imbedded iridescent shell of some sort. Very pretty! Each of the bowls and small plates show a different scene of traditional Japanese sights—Mt. Fuji, pagodas, boats, etc. The salad utensils—fork and spoon—are in especially good condition with no damages and are decorated as well. (All these items are UNMARKED—maker is unknown.) This set is certainly quite useful, but also would look beautiful on display. Please examine all photos carefully for an accurate representation of these items. Condition: Used.
