They have Vibram soles and can be re-soled by any quality cobbler.  The leather is skuffed in all the usual places (see images) but there are no holes. The original green laces are in fine condition. There are no issues with the hardware.  I purchased these fine boots new from Danner in January 2010. I remember they sent a letter when I ordered saying that the leather they had in stock was not up to their standards, and wanted to know if I cared to wait for a better batch of leather. I did in fact wait and am glad I did. The leather in these boots is top-notch. The heels were professionally re-soled in Oct. 2018 and have not loosened at all.
