Description This vintage art glass decanter was designed by Winslow Anderson during his tenure with Blenko.  It is model 920-S, the smallest of the 920 series, also called a "cruet" in the 1950s catalogs.  It is unsigned, and its original Blenko sticker is missing. The shape is a midcentury modern take on what collectors call a genie bottle.  The bottle has straight-sloping sides that curve into a neck which holds a stopper shaped like a teardrop or candle flame.  The glass is glossy, with a crackle finish.  The glass color is a smoky blue shade Blenko called Teal. It measures 11" tall with the stopper in place.  The bottle is 8.5" tall, and 3.25 inches in diameter at the base.  It weighs nearly 1 pound before packaging. The piece is still in very good vintage condition - no chips, cracks, heavy scratches, heavy water staining, or repairs.  There does appear to be some light overall water staining inside, as well as a few small spots of staining that are more visible.  There is some light wear on the inner edge of the neck rim, from the stopper being set into place, and some light shelf wear on the base.   I did not notice any other obvious flaws. But as this is a vintage pre-owned item, you may notice some light wear from use and handling over the years, including a stray light scratch or small scuff on the surface.  You can only see these if you look closely under bright lighting, as shown in the photos.  The rich glass color hides any flaws well. Its overall appearance is still nice and presentable - perfect for use or display. Please view the enlarged photos to see the detail.
