Marked for use with genuine Swingline No. 13 high carbon staples in sizes 13-1/4, 13-3/8, and 13-1/2. The included staple box appears to be No. 13 1/2” heavy duty staples. It has staples in it, and I tried stapling through two index cards. Vintage Swingline No. 13 Heavy Duty Stapler with original box, instruction sheet/guarantee paper, and a box of Swingline No. 13 heavy duty staples as shown. This came from an estate sale and was found stored in a basement. The stapler has not been fully cleaned or professionally serviced. It does have age-related surface blemishes, dirt, and light rust/corrosion in some areas, especially around the rear pull-back/loading lever area. The original cardboard box is included but is rough from age and storage, with wear, tears, staining, soft edges, and general deterioration as shown. I did a very limited test. It has staples in it, and I tried stapling through two index cards. It did not consistently staple correctly for me. One time it seemed to work properly, but other times the staple did not fold/seat correctly and the sharp points were sticking up through the cards. I am not a stapler expert, so I do not know if this is because it needs adjustment, cleaning, servicing, the correct paper thickness, different staple size, or something else. Because of the testing issue described above, this is being sold as found, as-is, for parts, repair, restoration, adjustment, or display. Still a great vintage heavy duty office stapler for a Swingline collector, vintage office display, industrial desk setup, or someone familiar with servicing these older heavy duty staplers.
