These stunning pieces were thoughtfully designed by my grandmother, Sue Amling, in the late 1980s, in collaboration with local Amish craftsmen in Arthur, Illinois. The result is a one-of-a-kind design that combines beauty, craftsmanship, and safety.   Sue's vision was to create rocking toys that were not only safe for children but also built to last for generations. The rocking horses feature a thoughtful design with a seat back to ensure comfort and stability, preventing tipping even during the most enthusiastic playtime. Her goal was to create furniture-grade, heirloom pieces that would be cherished for years to come.   Adding to their uniqueness, each horse’s head was hand-painted and signed by local artist, Ilabelle. While Sue had hoped to expand production, her battle with terminal illness prevented her from seeing her dream realized. As a result, the limited number of rocking horses created were placed in storage and have remained untouched for over 30 years.   Now, we are excited to share these timeless pieces with new families, offering children the opportunity to experience the joy of a lovingly crafted rocking toy.
