I live in the country and my neighbor has many plants and flowers on her acreage, I am seeing butterflies and dragonflies all the time when I’m outdoors. There is something calming about nature and its wonders. There must be something magical about reading stories to your children at bedtime because they always fall asleep. That is why the designers incorporated nature and fairy tales in this brooch, to bring out that magical time of wishing. This 3 D Iris is hand painted in Cupid Pink epoxy enamel outside and shimmering Silver inside. The attention given to the Iris front and back, to the sculpturing and hand painted shading of each element, makes the detailed work breathtaking. The fine craftsmanship and attention to even small details (the face on the fairy) is only found in high end designer and collector pieces. The brooch is large, approximately 2.50” L x 2.50” W. This is a magical, fantasy, romantic brooch of impeccable quality in even the smallest details. Kirks Folly is an American company that began with two sisters, Helen and Jennifer Kirk, in 1979 in New York City. One was the designer and the other was the PR person. What started with hair accessories expanded and they were joined by other family members to actually selling through QVC and other national retailers with a high end fashion following.There moto was “One part magic plus 2 parts of hard work and determination”. The sisters wanted to develop a fantasy themed jewelry, clothing, and home accessories line. They had special events and shows for their followers. Their products included fairies, angels, mermaids, mystical creatures, story book characters and graceful dancers. Their philosophy was “Dreams really do come true”. I am now retired and downsizing my own personal jewelry collection. All items are authentic and were purchased from reputable retailers. Most of the jewelry is new in the original pouch and boxes.
