When I was working I purchased many of Joan Rivers pins and brooches to wear on my jackets or dresses because they represent HOPE. This particular bee pin, also, represents hope for our country and it was made in America. The bee pin has quality epoxy enameling in colors of red, white, and blue, the colors of our flag. The wings are blue enamel with gold tone stars and the body is red and white enamel stripes separated by gold tone stripes. Clear pave crystals make up the front segment of the body and green crystals are the eyes. All metal work is gold tone. This is a Bee-lieve in yourself pin. Joan Rivers used her own life inspiration to make her bee pins to inspire others to have faith In themselves. Her husband gave her the analogy of the bumblebee when she was struggling in her life and she continued to use it for the rest of her life to encourage others.Based on fact, in aerodynamic terms, a bumblebee should not be able to fly but it does. We all can achieve the impossible everyday with faith. I have been through a lot of challenges in my life, and sometimes we need reminders to be an overcomer.The pin is in gold tone and is approximately 1.5” L x 1.5” W.  The original box, pouch, Joan Rivers card, and Bee card are included. In 1990, Joan Rivers was asked by QVC to develop a cosmetic line for sale on their site, instead she convinced the CEO to allow her to develop and design a high end costume jewelry line that was affordable to not only upper class but hard working middle class women. QVC accepted the offer and in September of that year she began what would be 24 years of designing jewelry, accessories, clothing until her death. She would appear on QVC periodically with her products and dazzle viewers with her expertise in fashion and jewelry design. She is best known for her remarkable bee pins and accessories. She often acknowledged that working with QVC and its many viewers was a huge point of pride for her. She owned an extensive collection of expensive fine and costume jewelry, which she used to design and make great accessories for all women, while inspiring and incorporating her style and high standards for quality in every piece. I am now retired and downsizing my own personal jewelry collection. All items are authentic and were purchased from reputable retailers. Most of the jewelry is new in the original pouch and boxes.
