St Monica  Holy Medal  on 24" chain Brand New 7/8" Italian nickel silver medal with an updated image of St Monica on the front and "Pray for us" on the back.   It comes on a 24" stainless steel continuous neck chain which means you can slip it easily on and off over your head and fits over most size heads. Comes gift boxed and with a gift bag, tissue paper and our own full color St Monica prayer card. St Monica suffered much in her life; an unhappy marriage to an adulterous, cruel and abusive pagan; who nonetheless was converted through her prayers to Christianity on his deathbed.  She was a recovered alcoholic, who prayed unceasingly for her husband and son, Augustine who became a saint and an important 4th century theologian and a prolific writer who helped to shape the Christian Church. But St Augustine would have remained a boorish pagan if not for the strong courageous faith of his mother.  St Monica is the patron saint of difficult marriages; domestic abuse of all kinds, widows, wives, victims of adultery and disappointing children. The prayer cards which come with our rosaries, medals and pictures are home-made, created using a "greeting card" program on a computer and printed in full color on nice quality paper.
