It has both the pin fastening to be worn as a brooch as well as a silver loop in order to wear as a pendant. This brooch/pendant combo is from my personal collection.  I purchased it new in Mexico in the 1990s.  It has the Mexican Silver Maker's Mark 925 TJ-75 Mexico on the rear.  It is a substantial piece weighing nearly 32 grams.  It has both the pin fastening to be worn as a brooch as well as a silver loop in order to wear as a pendant. I'm an avid jewelry collector and will be listing a number of pieces that are just taking up room in my jewelry box that I no longer wear.  I'm happy to answer any questions.
