Vintage Chinese yixing zisha pottery teapot Mark on bottom reads “Zhong Guo Yixing,” the shortened term for the ROC and then PROC, dating this teapot to the 1990s Body is rounded with gingko and cherry blossoms molded in relief.  Lid handle is molded into the shape of a gingko branch Although found in a range of colors, including browns and black, the material used for Yixing pottery is called zisha (purple clay). This wide palette is due to the clay’s high metallic oxide content and differences in kiln temperatures.  Measures approx. 5” x 3” Light wear to mark on base underside (See pics) Provenance: Please feel free to reach out for further information.
