View Vintage Hand-painted Square Nappy Dish w/Scalloped Corners – Occupied Japan with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. The dish is about 5-5/8” square and about 3/4” high to the edge of the dish and about 1-3/8” high to the top of the handle. The mark on the bottom is not perfectly clear but based on other examples I’ve seen it is an elephant with what appears to be an “A” to the right of its tusks. This vintage hand-painted nappy dish is in very good condition considering its age and past use.   There are no chips or cracks.   The only noteworthy condition issues are some small areas where the gold edge trim has worn off and a small “dent” on the bottom edge that looks like a chip but is not – it’s smooth (see photos).   The dish is about 5-5/8” square and about 3/4” high to the edge of the dish and about 1-3/8” high to the top of the handle.   The mark on the bottom is not perfectly clear but based on other examples I’ve seen it is an elephant with what appears to be an “A” to the right of its tusks.   This dish was made in occupied Japan which dates it to between 1945 and 1952.
