Oval shape centered with a mine-cut diamond. With a twisted rope band on the lower level and on the second level a granulated bead band pierced by four double scrolls. GOLD BROOCH LOCKET, 14K, ETRUSCAN REVIVAL, DIAMOND. c.1860s. Brooch, 1.5 inches x 1.25 inches x .25 inches. Yellow gold 14K.Total weight of gold plus diamond is 11.80 grams. Etruscan Revival design, made in Italy, 1840-1860. Oval shape centered with a mine-cut diamond. With a twisted rope band on the lower level and on the second level a granulated bead band pierced by four double scrolls.  There is an applied foliate scroll frame around the diamond. The back has a security clasp and a locket cover of glass set in a gilded silver frame,(1.25 inches x 1 inch,) notched at the top to fit securely.  There is a folding ring to convert the brooch into use as a pendant. The lower back has a fixed ring for hanging a further ornament or a small watch.  The empty locket space can be used for a small portrait or a memento. Marks: None.
