The artist signed and dated (1974) this piece, Roland Eustace, a Zuni artisan. On a heavy gauge sterling silver base, the artist used an inlay technique to create the duck-in-motion pictorial. Pieces of mother of pearl, abalone, jet, and coral were carved and shaped to create the duck, while abalone and brown shell were used for the cattails. On a heavy gauge sterling silver base, the artist used an inlay technique to create the duck-in-motion pictorial. Pieces of mother of pearl, abalone, jet, and coral were carved and shaped to create the duck, while abalone and brown shell were used for the cattails. The tops of the gemstones are slightly above the silver base, creating a 3D texture. The border of the bolo slide is hand stamped. The bolo slide is 2 3/8" in diameter. The leathers are 4 mm thick, and are 37" long (including the silver tips, which are 2 1/4" long). It weighs 57 g. The artist signed and dated (1974) this piece, Roland Eustace, a Zuni artisan.
