View Vintage 1930s Art Deco Carl Art Dress Clip Pot Metal High Dome Unfoiled Cabochon with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. Many rhinestones are missing, but this is such a unique, lovely piece and still is very wearable - the missing rhinestones aren't very noticeable when worn, unless one is looking very closely. Signed "CA" on the back. This gorgeous pot metal vintage dress clip by Carl Art dates to the 1930s and features three highly domed, unfoiled, clear crystal or glass cabochons that are faceted around the bottom portions. These cabochons are set with two prongs each into pot metal, with rings of pave set rhinestones encircling them. The unfoiled cabochons, two-prong setting, and cut-outs beneath the cabochons was a high-end design choice - it allowed the light to travel completely through the glass, preventing the "dead" look that occurs when foil backing degrades over time. This dress clip does have some slightly pink discoloration visible in the cabochons when turned the right way in the light, and I am unable to determine exactly where it is coming from; it is not visible on the exterior. Many rhinestones are missing, but this is such a unique, lovely piece and still is very wearable - the missing rhinestones aren't very noticeable when worn, unless one is looking very closely.
