This stunning soliflore (onion bulb) bud vase features a vibrant, glossy ruby red exterior cased over an opaque milk-white interior lining. The dual-layer cased glass technique gives the piece an incredibly rich color depth that looks phenomenal when caught by the light. Production & Authenticity Details: This vase is entirely hand-blown, featuring a completely smooth, seamless body with no machine mold lines. It features a prominent, unpolished raw pontil scar near the base bulb and smaller raised one opposite of it on other side. This jagged break-mark is text-book proof of a hand-crafted artisan piece, created when the glassblower snapped the pontil rod away from the molten glass. The organic texture of the scar beautifully mimics a vintage maker's tracking mark (resembling a stylized "v" and "C/G" fracture). Design Concept: With its elongated, elegant chimney neck and bulbous bottom, this minimalist profile is highly characteristic of elite 1960s and 1970s Scandinavian design and Polish art glass houses (such as Huta Barbara). It is designed to perfectly hold a single, dramatic floral stem or stand alone as a structural pop of retro color. I took many photos trying to see if any signatures on body and too hard for me to say. Condition: Excellent vintage condition! Free of chips, cracks, or flea bites on the rim or body. The glass retains its brilliant, high-gloss luster. (Note: The rough texture on the lower bulb is the native, raw manufacturing pontil scar from production, not damage).
