Vintage Mid-Century Taxco Mexican Sterling Silver Aztec Calendar Brooch / Pendant Up for sale is a beautiful, highly detailed vintage Mexican sterling silver combination brooch and pendant featuring the iconic Aztec Calendar (Sun Stone) design. This stunning mid-century piece features deep, dark oxidation in the recessed areas, which beautifully highlights the intricate, high-relief three-dimensional tribal motifs. The reverse side features a fully functional pin mechanism with a safety clasp, as well as an integrated top loop (bail), allowing it to easily transition from a statement brooch to a necklace pendant. Hallmarks & Authenticity: The back of the piece is deeply stamped with official vintage hallmarks: "HECHO EN MEXICO" (Made in Mexico) "STERLING 925" (Guaranteed 925/1000 pure silver) Mexican Government Eagle Assay Mark #28: This specific registration number dates the piece between 1948 and 1971 and identifies it as originating from the historically significant workshop/studio of renowned Taxco artist Bernice Goodspeed.
