A striking and unusually constructed Art Deco necklace with a dramatic oversized amber-colored glass centerpiece. Beautiful antique Art Deco-era necklace featuring a substantial oversized faceted and beveled amber-colored glass pendant in an ornate gilt-tone metal setting. The large rectangular glass stone has deeply beveled/faceted edges that catch the light beautifully, shifting from warm honey and golden amber to deeper cognac tones depending on the angle. The pendant is especially detailed, with ornate openwork filigree at the top accented by two small amber-colored stones. Tiny pale glass seed beads form a decorative border around the perimeter of the pendant. The necklace has an unusual double flexible snake/serpentine-style chain accented with small square amber-colored glass stones set at intervals along the chain. Finished with a spring-ring clasp. The construction, materials and styling are consistent with Czech/Bohemian Art Deco costume jewelry of the 1920s–1930s; however, no maker or country mark has been located, so the exact origin is not guaranteed. Measurements: • Necklace: approximately 21” long end to end • Pendant: approximately 1.96” long × 1.40” wide Condition: Antique condition with age-related patina, oxidation, darkening and finish wear to the metal, as shown in the photographs. The large amber-colored glass stone remains beautiful and displays intentional geometric beveling/faceting. Tiny perimeter beads appear present based on inspection/photos.
