Stunning and wholly unique hand blown amethyst glass pitcher, e xpertly crafted in heavy glass with liquid color and unique accents - a ring of four applied medallions to the base as well as a highly unusual free floating elevated tubular handle with a long sinuous form merged to the exterior. What makes it even more intriguing is that it is unsigned, while clearly being the work of a skilled glass artisan, though I could not find another example of any pitcher in any color that resembles it - and as someone who deals in a lot of glass, my hunch is that it is American in origin rather than European (perhaps a unique piece of Blenko?). Snapped pontil on bottom. Large in size, measuring 9" tall and with a 5.75" diameter at top. In excellent condition to boot aside from a tiny scrape at the bottom of the handle and an internal flaw that resembles but is not a crack and is not feelable on either side of the glass - otherwise no chips, no cloudiness, and with rich, vivid color.
