I'm selling this beautiful medal from the Soviet Union, the 1961 Soviet Manned Space Program Official Commemorative Medal, showing a bust of Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, on obverse and the date 1961 and Gagarin's signature on the reverse.  The medal is 72.88 mm in diameter about 2-7/8" about 5/16" total thickness and was told it is made of silver (with a total weight of 6.275 ounces or 177.7 grams). The medal has black background color with a beautiful silver profile and sharply engraved high relief surfaces.   Comes with small acrylic display stand and it would be a very nice addition to your space or medal collection.
