From 1891 to 1921 Japanese porcelain imports to the United States were marked Nippon. After 1921, pieces were required to be marked Japan. 7 5/8” dessert plate. There is a small chip at the corner of the tidbit server. This cannot be shipped to a PO Box. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii and Puerto Rico requires additional postage. This set Vintage bone china Nippon dessert set is in a hand painted forget me not or violet pattern. This was my grandmother’s and was kept in a china cabinet. The berry set is a most unusual shape. This set includes: Four place-settings which are four pieces each. Each place-setting includes: 7 5/8” dessert plate 3 3/4” coffee/tea cup see last photo for how thin and translucent they are. 5 3/8” saucer 6 7/8” by 4 3/4” berry bowl (very unusual shape) For a total of 16 pieces Additional 5 serving pieces include: 2 5/8 tall w/2 1/2” diameter Salt & pepper (including corks) 4” tall x 4” base diameter creamer 4 3/4” tall x 4” base diameter covered sugar bowl with cover. 7 1/2” long Tidbit server with handle 12 1/2” long by 8 1/2” Berry bowl (very unique shape) Total of 22 pieces. There are no chips, cracks or crazing and the gold is in excellent condition. EXCEPT: (see photos, too) The gold on the handle and rim of the creamer is worn There is a tiny chip on the rim of 2 saucers—see photo 11 There is a small chip at the corner of the tidbit server.
