Wonderful, antique needlepoint circa 1870. This lovely piece of needle work features a mother, child, two pets - a St. Charles King Cavalier dog and a grey tabby cat. Other details include a small table with a vase filled with flowers, rich tapestry curtains in the background and an arched window with a view of a castle by the seaside. Mom has on a blue, off the shoulder dress with a wide flounce of lace and an expensive-looking matching necklace. Colors are vibrant and rich. Provenance on the back. Large, black ebonized frame with some minor issues, but nothing of real note. Overall measurements are 26 1/2" x 31 3/4". Framed by Gvan Hulsen, Kunsthandel, in Germany. Glass on front and big hanging wire on the back. This is pretty heavy - maybe 30 pounds or so. In very nice condition. Please message me with any ?S, or for more pix. I combine shipping.
