This is a Satsuma plate beautifully hand painted in a variety of vivid colors. The scene is heavily highlighted in gold gilt. This is plate #1. The artistry is simply amazing. Every single detail is highlighted in gold. A very rare find!  This is a Satsuma plate beautifully hand painted in a variety of vivid colors.  The scene is heavily highlighted in gold gilt.  I have a total of 4 plates, all different scenes, same size, same details, same mark on the bottom, and most likely same artist.  This is plate #1.  It portrays 2 Japanese women strolling by the lake, both wearing their fancy kimonos.  You can see pagodas in the distance, a waterfall and a lot of cherry blossoms.  The artistry is simply amazing.  Every single detail is highlighted in gold.  The pictures do not do justice to the craftsmanship.  The plate measures 11" in diameter.  The mark on the bottom is Satsuma Ware from the Meiji period 1868-1912.  There are no chips, cracks, repairs.  Only crazing which is expected on pieces this old.  Please check out the other 3 plates I have listed.  Please look at all pics and ask questions prior to buying.  Thank you for stopping by!
