Photo of Bride & Groom Standing. Measures 4 x 6.5" J.K. Stevens & Son Co.  was a 19th-century photography studio located in the McVicker's Theatre Building in Chicago, Illinois. The studio was operated by John Kimball Stevens (1838–1901?).   The back of the photograph, known as a cabinet card, advertises the studio's specialty in "Children's Pictures" and "Portraits," and notes that "Duplicates can be had at any time". The studio's name varied over the years, appearing as "J.K. Stevens," "J.K. Stevens Co.," and "J.K. Stevens & Son" between 1881 and 1900. The business was later taken over by Gibson, Sykes, and Fowler studios around 1905.   The McVicker's Theatre was a prominent playhouse that operated from 1857 to 1984 on Madison Street in Chicago. The building was destroyed in two fires, including the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, and was rebuilt several times before being demolished in 1985 Condition: Used.
