CHARACTERS THESE ARE A PAIR OF GUARANTEED GENUINE CHINESE-STYLE SMALL BOWLS. I presume they are rice bowls, but I could be wrong. They look like porcelain to me, but I cannot guarantee that. They are marked with Chinese (or at least Asian) characters in two lines. Each has a diameter of just over 4.5 inches, and stand just under 2 inches tall. One is free of chips, cracks, and breaks, while the other has a large chip at the base measuring about 1 X 0.25 inches. The pattern, which includes trees, flowers, and dancers (?) is very well defined, no smearing or running of the lines or colors. That is really all I can tell you about these. I know nothing about Asian ceramics. I don't know if these are 5 years old or 500. I don't know if they are worth 50 cents, $5, or $500. (I would expect the lower end on both those.) I don't know if they were made in China, in a sweatshop in Vietnam, or New York City's Chinatown. Buy them or make an offer, and please after I accept it, tell me what they are so I will know in the future! I got them in a group lot at a Pennsylvania consignment auction several years ago. One final thought: in today's economy, where are you going to put your money? Under your mattress? In AIG stock maybe?
