The wing span is 1 1/2" at the widest across the top. Vintage Green Jade Carved Butterfly Red Bead Eyes Gold-Tone Brooch / Pendant.  This amazing butterfly pin or brooch is so detailed with the beautiful green jade wings that have scalloped edges and carved out lines for the sections of the wings.  The wing span is 1 1/2" at the widest across the top.  The clasp of the butterfly's body that holds the wings on has the same scalloped edges as the outer edges of the wings to make the butterfly seems even more delicate than it is.  Those flow down to the gold head and the red polished bead eyes that you can't help but gaze into and become fixated.  From there the two delicate antennae flow upward and float ever so gently as the ends of the antennae curl inward to form tiny circles above the butterfly.  The craftsmanship of this brooch is remarkable and to top it off, it not only is an exquisite pin, but it can also function as a pendant that dangles freely from whatever chain you decide to pair it with.  The butterfly measures 1 1/4" long from the top of its antenna to the bottom of its wings.  Two pieces of jewelry in one!
