The satin-surfaced teapot by the Forbes Silver Company was made by the the era's very successful Meriden Britannia Company in Meriden, Connecticut . It manufactured silver plate hollowware under the "Forbes" mark for just a short time, between 1894 and 1898. Meriden merged with International Silver in 1898.This teapot's potbelly surface is etched, and rises to two rows of beading on its neck. Its spout is embellished at its base and top of the spout.
