This is a beautiful antique Meiji period Japanese bronze vase. It is quite tall standing at a little bit over 19 inches tall. The carving on it is very nicely done depicting a dragon on the bottom portion and five birds at the top portion. There are two birds on one side and three birds on the other side. Has elephant heads for the handles and a beautiful scalp pattern along the main body of it. The main neck of the vase has been repaired, and the two elephant handles are slightly wobbly. The main neck is also slightly wobbly from the body of the vase. There is no bottom plate for the bottom of the vase. Purely as a work of bronze art from the late 1800s this is an amazing conversation piece. Still has a very powerful, beautiful presence to it. Category: Antiques › Asian Antiques › Japan › Vases.
