Artisan Base: The bottom features a polished edge with an intact, organically textured spiral-spun pontil base. Smooth ridges encase the lower latticino lines, creating a beautifully unique quality. Up for sale is a stunning, substantial 4.5-inch hand-blown studio art glass egg paperweight from 1996. This is a masterfully executed piece displaying incredible optic tricks and artisan techniques. Key Visual & Technical Features: Optical Color Shift: The internal spiral veil appears to shift dynamically depending on your lighting angle, transitioning seamlessly from deep cobalt blues into rich golds, yellows, and a striking iridescent rainbow oil-slick aura taking on a dichroic style appearance. Fine Latticino Style Lines: The body is wrapped in exceptionally tight, perfectly parallel glass threads that show no distortion. They are what offer the dichroic style optical shift from bold blue to golden yellows. Controlled Bullicante Element: Features a large, crisp, perfectly centered internal air bubble acting as a magnifying lens for the core. Other intentionally placed artistic bubbles are equally as impressive. Aventurine Inclusions: Shimmering metallic copper-gold flecks are beautifully suspended throughout the deep blue core. Artisan Base: The bottom features a polished edge with an intact, organically textured spiral-spun pontil base. Smooth ridges encase the lower latticino lines, creating a beautifully unique quality. It is diamond-point engraved with the artist's signature (“Spirit” completely readable at top, bottom starts with CATO-, possibly Catohn or Catori) and dated '96.
